Cash flow and supply chain

Cash flow is a problem for many entrepreneurs. Delayed payments means you need huge cash reserves. Can smart contracts solve the cash flow issues? How will a future supply chain look like? We know that Robots are replacing humans in assembly lines. One major advantage is that there will be less deviations in the final products. Probably no need for verification of the finished good and  true JIT can be practised. In a ideal world of tomorrow the financer , the supplier and the customer may be connected through smart contracts. This will avoid unnecessary paper work and legal actions.

Smart contracts in outsourcing

One issue with outsourced software development is keeping everyone focussed on the requirements specifications and the delivery.  Typical stake holders for this service are the following 1) Buyer who is on the other side of earth but focussed on the end product. He will be interested in reducing his cost but need the delivery to happen in time. 2) Developer who is not familiar with the part of  earth where  the product will be used.  Interested in money and skills 3) The project manager who is responsible for dividing the tasks and making sure of the delivery in time. Interested in delivery and the money 4) Seller who wants to keep everything within the budget.  Interested in keeping people together and the money There are always conflicts between these stake holders and that defines a software development life cycle.  Can we address these conflicts with smart contracts? Theoretically even now all the stake holders have to sign off for any change bu...

Legal tender

Yesterday India Government announced that Crypto currencies are not a legal tender.  This could be the stand of many governments in near future. Am I worried too much? No. Why? This is a P2P system. If there are people who are ready to accept the Crypto currency and provide you with a legal tender like USD or INR then we need not have to worry. How do we trust such people? Can they disappear?  Now , that is  a more  tricky question. In the Startup ecosystem that I am explaining those people invest in the products created by the ecosystem. As long as such products are in the market there will be people honouring your crypto currency too.

Intangible assets

Nobody should feel that someone is taking away the credit of their hard work. If that happens then they will get demotivated. If society do not value an asset it will disappear from earth. So it is important that we address this issue. If we are not able to address this with the present economic tools then we may have to invent new tools. Can Crypto currency address it? When we do a work we create an asset. This asset could be tangible or intangible, but we had worked for it and we have a right to get benefitted for that work.  People behind startups create a lot of intangible assets. Can we create a mechanism using crypto currency to capture it, store it and turn that into a beneficial tangible asset?

Crypto currency at MVP stage

How can we address some of the problems faced by the startups using a crypto currency? Let us address the issues at the stages of  idea to  MVP and then to market validation.  You think you have a great idea but you have no money or only little money.  But you are ready to take the help of a team to develop the idea into MVP and then to market validation. But it requires the help of two  people. Some one who knows how to develop the MVP and some one who knows how to sell it in the market. How do you pay them? They could be offered shares. But how much shares? What is the guarantee that they will deliver? If they don't then you will loose time and energy. Can a crypto currency help at this stage? I had a feeling that the company structure do not fit to the needs of the startups. It is a bit inflexible. A startup has only very little resources  to manage in a fast changing scenario. When you start it is like entering into a maze. Only that, here the patte...

Non sellable assets

Product ideas do not have any value. If you try to sell the shares of a newly formed company and if nobody is ready to purchase it then it does not have any value. (The value of any property is proportional to the demand in the market and unless you try to sell, you will never know.) What will be the value  of those ideas that is in the stage of MVP or market validation? What is the value of it if it fails at this stage? You tried something and it failed? You gained experience and lost money. Someone else somewhere are going to try again . It is possible that they may succeed. Can you sell them your experience ? Will they be interested in paying for it?  We have things like patents and shares of the company. Can it address these issues? How flexible are they? Or do we need a crypto currency to address these issues?
